Having brought Loughborough its first Mexican restaurant, the Cactus Cafe, followed by the inspirational Moomba Australian restaurant, we are now introducing the town to a new and exciting concept in street food. We are passionate about providing high quality fast food, locally sourced with big, bold flavours. Enjoy.
What is Street Food?
It's a movement selling artisan 'fast food' using quality ingredients. It came from America, inspired by the idea of reinventing classic dishes and making them accessible to everyone. Usually found served from trucks or street stalls, at The Hog Stop we have incorporated the use of the old bus stop to provide a functional eating experience.
We serve slow roasted pork cooked overnight in our imported oven. This produces succulent pork which we serve in a choice of rolls and with a choice of 7 different flavours. The menu has now expanded to include beef brisket, jerk chicken and salad boxes
The inspiration for The Hog Stop came from the hugely popular porchetta trucks which travel around Italy selling pork from whole pigs flavoured with garlic, fennel, rosemary and chilli.
Italians flock to buy sandwiches in crusty ciabatta rolls or just take the delicious pork home for dinner. The Hog Stop is a combination of this concept and our love for the great British hog roast but with more international influences.
